Peter Polchinski
Counsel
Mr. Polchinski is a Senior Trial Attorney with the firm's New York City office. He has extensive experience in Asbestos and other Toxic Tort Litigation, and General Liability, Transportation, Aviation, and Criminal Defense Labor Law litigation. He has tried more than 135 cases to verdict, and has successfully argued cases before the Appellate Courts of New York State.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Polchinski served as a homicide prosecutor for the Manhattan District Attorney, as solo practitioner serving as trial counsel to law firms, corporations, and public authorities, and as National Trial Counsel for a brake company involved in asbestos litigation. Most recently, he was a partner at a litigation firm, where he served as the Senior Trial Attorney in a General Liability practice.
Mr. Polchinski has created six courses for lawyers accredited by New York State Continuing Legal Education Board. Additionally, he is the author of two books, Elements of Trial Practice (and Second Edition) and The Cross- Examination Edge, and he also teaches in the Manhattan District Attorney's Trial Advocacy Course. For seven years, he was the Chief Instructor for the Hofstra Law School Summer Trial Intensive Program.
Mr. Polchinski is admitted to practice in New York, and in the Southern District of New York and Eastern District of New York federal courts. He is a graduate of Suffolk County Community College and Stony Brook University. He received his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law where he was the Managing Editor of the Moot Court Board and played on the All-Star Basketball Team. He earned an L.L.M. in Trade Regulation from New York University School of Law.
