Kerryann M. Cook


Director, New York Asbestos Litigation

Ms. Cook is a Partner and the Director of the firm's New York City Asbestos Department. Ms.Cook primarily focuses her practice on the defense of Asbestos/Bodily Injury cases, Toxic Torts, Products Liability and General Casualty defense. She also maintains an active and diverse Sports & Entertainment Law practice. In addition to defending claims in New York, Ms.Cook’s practice includes developing defense strategies for various entities and coordinating their asbestos personal-injury cases throughout the country.  Ms. Cook has represented school districts, municipalities and private business in insurance defense, municipal law, negligence, construction/labor law and civil rights matters, in addition to having spent years working in and around collegiate and professional sports programs.

Ms. Cook serves as a member of the NYCAL Case Management Committee and medical defense liaison group. She has successfully briefed and argued Robert F. Perdicaro v. A.O. Smith Water Products, et al., 52 A.D.3d 300 (1st Dep't 2008) and co-authored an article entitled "Unpaid Interns in Sport: Are They Legal?," which was published in the July 2007 edition of the International Journal of Sport Management. Ms. Cook has been recognized as one of the "Top Young Attorneys in New York” and as a "Rising Star” in the New York Metro Area.

While a student at the University of Memphis School of Law, Ms. Cook was the Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board and a member of the school's National Moot Court team. Ms. Cook received her undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University and her Master's Degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Ms. Cook is admitted to the bars of New York State and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and is a registered sports agent.
