Christopher M. Helsel


Christopher Helsel is an associate in MK&C's New York City office.  Mr. Helsel is a member of the firm’s general liability department.
Prior to joining MK&C, Mr. Helsel served as the law clerk for The Honorable Philip J. Maenza in the Law Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Sussex County and Family Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Morris County. Mr. Helsel also completed a graduate clerkship with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, and has written extensively for the New York State Bar Association’s Entertainment, Art, and Sports Law section blog.
Mr. Helsel graduated from Villanova University School of Law in 2013. During law school, he served as a summer law clerk with the National Football League Management Council, and represented the law school at the National Baseball Arbitration Competition hosted by Tulane University Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Helsel also earned an LL.M. in International Sports Law from Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE) in Madrid, Spain, where he received top honors for his thesis, "America’s (Inter)national Pastime: An Examination of the Major League Baseball Draft, Its Legality and Effect on the Value of American and International Players.” Mr. Helsel graduated from Wesleyan University in 2009, where he received a B.A. in American Studies (U.S. History concentration) and played varsity baseball and football.
