Steven Balson-Cohen

Senior Trial Attorney

Mr. Balson-Cohen is a senior trial attorney with our New York office. He is a seasoned trial attorney who in his more than 25 year career has obtained numerous favorable verdicts in high exposure cases in various cases involving product liability, toxic torts, labor law, general liability and medical negligence. In addition, he is also an active appellate advocate, successfully arguing a number of appellate cases. 

Before joining the firm he practiced with several well known tort firms in the New York Metropolitan area. Mr. Balson-Cohen has lectured on various legal topics and has been published in The New York Law Journal, having written articles for that publication on legal trends in tort law. One of his articles “Trial By Ambush and The Treating Physician” was cited by the Appellate Division in Kish v. Graham, 40 A.D. 2d 118, 883 N.Y.S. 2d 313 (4th Dept. 2007).

Mr. Balson-Cohen received his undergraduate degree from Yeshiva College in 1979 (B.A. Political Science) and his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1982. He is admitted to practice in New York State, all four Federal District Courts in New York State, the Federal Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third and Fourth Circuits and the United States Supreme Court.
