Mr. Gernant is the Managing Partner of McGivney & Kluger’s Syracuse, New York office overseeing complex litigation for the entire Upstate New York region.  He has extensive experience defending complex product liability cases including medical devices and pharmaceuticals.  Notably, he recently defended a major retail store in a lawsuit brought by a professional athlete who tested positive for steroids and alleged the illegal substance was in a dietary supplement he purchased from the store. 

Mr. Gernant has also successfully defended complex toxic tort claims including asbestos, mold, benzene, lead, and other chemical exposures in the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey, and has been admitted pro hac vice in other jurisdictions.  He was recognized as a Rising Star in Product Liability Defense by New Jersey Super Lawyers in 2009 and 2010 as part of the top 2.5% of New Jersey’s young attorneys.

Mr. Gernant is admitted to the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey.  He graduated magna cum laude from Niagara University in 2002 and received his Juris Doctor cum laude from New England School of Law in 2005.
